Hotel Laxmi Vilas Palace is located on the banks of
the Fateh Sagar lake. This hotel provides a
picturesque view of the lakes, Aravalli Hills and
Sajjangarh Palace. This hotel was built by Maharana
Bhupal Singh in 1911 as a residence of Mr. Winn
Gate, political agent at that time. In 1945, Mr.
Winngate was shifted to Hathi Pole and the Laxmi
Vilas Palace was rebuilt as a royal guest house to
house the dignitaries, visiting princes and British
officers. In 1966, the Hotel Laxmi Vilas Palace was
transferred to DOT and in 1969 it was handed over to
ITDC. Since then, Hotel Laxmi Vilas Palace was run
by the Ashok Group of Hotels.

In
1977, 23 rooms were added to the existing 11 rooms in
the Hotel Laxmi Vilas Palace, and in 1984, 20 more
rooms were added, thus taking total number of rooms to
54 (43 regular rooms and 11 suites). All the rooms and
suites are centrally air-conditioned and have an
attached bathroom with hot and cold running water
supply, Direct Dialing Telephone, Color Television and
Refrigerator. The Maharaja and Maharani suites are
equipped with Jacuzzis. |

Padmini Restaurant in the Hotel Laxmi Vilas Palace
serves Tandoori, Sizzlers, Rajasthani, Continental,
Chinese and Indian cuisines. Sur Sagar is a delightful
