Hotel Devi Garh is a luxury heritage hotel situated in the Aravalli hills in the Delwara village in Udaipur in the Rajsamand district of Rajasthan. The 18th century Devi Garh fort palace forms one of the three main passes into Udaipur. Sajja Singh, who hailed from the neighboring state of Gujarat, was awarded this strategically significant principality, in recognition of his bravery and loyalty to Maharana Pratap against the Mughal emperor Akbar, at the battle of Haldighati. The construction of the fort palace was started in 1760 by Raghudev Singh II and further additions were made to the palace by the rulers who followed. The palace was absorbed into the state of Rajasthan in the 1960, and was later abandoned. Today, after years of restoration and reconstruction, Devi Garh has regained its past glory. The palace presents an ideal amalgamation of past and the future. It is a unique all-suite boutique hotel.
