Historical Background
WelcomHeritage Lal Niwas, built in 1750, is a
splendid example of a heritage 'haveli', a rich
merchant's mansion, with intricate 'jalli' work in
red sandstone, with the order of workmanship and
artistry testifying not only to the skills of the
artisans but the wealth and status of the owner.
Situated in the picturesque, historic town of
Phalodi, Rajasthan. Phalodi is also renowned for its
old Jain and Hindu temples which are over 300 years
old. The fort in Phalodi is over 400 years old and
the town is abundant with splendid Havelis from the
18th century,all adding up to make this a unique
heritage spot.
The grand WelcomHeritage Lal Niwas haveli with its
many traditional balconies and terraces provides a
magical setting for parties and banquets and its
ample courtyard recalls the glories of another era
while at present, it serves as a venue for musical
concerts and other shows. It has a remarkable
library with books and manuscripts dating back to
princely times. It also houses Dadha’s Heritage
Museum offering collection of ancient coins and
manuscripts belonging to princely times. |
