Fairlawn
has been a family run Hotel since 1936 and has been
under the management of the
present family since that time. Our aim has always
been to make our guests as comfortable as we can.

shaped by the hands and minds of generations of
families whose memories and

influences have contributed to the unique character
of the old place.
Since 1783 Fairlawn has stood on the junction of
Madge Lane and Sudder Street, the heart of the most
cosmopolitan and vibrant area of the city and within
two minutes walk from the famous New Market area.
("New" meaning over 100 years old, compared to
Fairlawn, a whippersnapper of a building) About the
same distance away, past the Indian Museum, is the
Park St Metro station, Park St itself is just
beyond.
The Hotel is defined by its idiosyncrasies. Should
you need the impersonal semi perfection of a large
chain, it exists elsewhere in the city. However, for
a stay that you will cherish as much as your trip to
India, this is the only place for you. Colonial
charm and décor and a potpourri of styles ranging
from it's past, combined with modern facilities and
home comforts mark; the place as unique.

Accommodation
All rooms are en-suite with renovated bathrooms &
hot water geysers.
All rooms are air-conditioned with fridges, TV, tea
making facilities.
Wi-Fi available for wireless internet access
We have also installed a water softner and de-ionising
plant.
Brand new Generator meaning we are never without
air-conditioning or light
Bedrooms
have been refurbished within the last twelve months.
All bedrooms are en-suite. We have our |

own tube
well water and filtration for drinking water. We
have a Dhobi (Laundry) service in the premises. For
very little money you can have your cloth washed,
ironed and returned to you on the same day. A new
addition has been access to wi fi."

Dining Hall:
A full english breakfast is served from 7.30 AM till 10.30 every
morning .Afternoon tea with biscuits/cake/sandwiches is served every
afternoon from 4 - 6 PM.We have just engaged a great new chef. He is
a gifted & confident cook and we now have an extensive and tasty a
la carte menu which is also reasonably priced.This is served from
10AM till 2 PM & 6 PM till 9 PM, so come, eat & enjoy."
Upstairs Lounge:
The charming upstairs lounge is cool during the day, TV's are either
end of this large and comfortable space.
Garden Area:
The garden area has been a Sudder Street landmark for many years.
The lush plants and secluded feeling are an oasis in this busy area.
During the day people come here to relax, write letters and in the
evening, to socialise. Fairlawn is a place where you will never be
short of company. |
