Bhanwar Vilas Palace, a member of the Indian
Heritage Hotels Association and India's royal
Legacy, was constructed during the early 1930's in
colonial style, is now the present residence of the
Maharaja of Karauli. It has been opened for tourists
since 1995.
The ruling family of Karauli are the descendents of
Lord Krishna while the city is the home of Shri Madan
Mohan Ji, the deity of Lord Krishna, worshipped by
millions of followers from all parts of India.
Karauli is situated very strategically just 64 kms
off the main Agra - Jaipur Highway.

Bhanwar Vilas Palace has 47 rooms with all modern
facilities and also has a swimming pool and a
billiards table. A stud farm, a
dairy and the garden around the palace adds to the
attraction.
